A year now - Visiting

Yesterday, he logged into MSN much earlier than normal time. He spoke to me that he was here in Malaysia last Oct and it was already one year now. Oh yeah! that reminds me of his visiting to Malaysia, he spent a month here.

He, a very special friend of mine, we met in Edinburgh Feb 2005. He did help me alot, teach me alot, treats me like his family member, like his sister.... he said whenever he got a home and that home will also be mine. Very touching !

This was his 1st trip to Malaysia or even can tell is his 1st trip to Asia. Initially, he thought that Malaysian are dangerous people, we live on trees, we eat people, we eat everything, we hunt people head (haha... this was what I told him yet he believe me :p).

Yet he promised to visit me although Malaysia sound danger place to him. Here he came .... and to be a good host, I planned for his itinerary. After this trip, I believe he can speaks well about Malaysia. Malaysia got many nice things / nice places under the sun, don't you think so? (we put aside on gov/human issues).

Part 1 - Taman Negara

We went to Taman Negara for 3D2N- The world oldest rain forest, it also the lung of the globe according to one of the book I read. We were on 3 hours boat ridding into the deep forest. So exiting !!! Our group consist of 7 peoples.......

We had our routine meals at this kind of floating restaurants.
In morning, he told the waiter in malay "tambah roti" - add more bread (english)
At lunch, he told the waiter in malay "tambah nasi" - add more rice (english)
At night, he told the waiter in malay "tambah sayur" - add more vege (english)
At one time, he told the waiter in malay"tambah mati" - add more death (english)
opps.... the group looked at him and we all fainted! T_T lll

The hang bridge, a very long one ... we call as canopy walk. I am not scare at all and finished the whole journey. But few of the guys are scared because it was very shaking .... they really memalukan hehehe.....

We went to the "Orang Asli" village. Don't worry we were so safe, in fact the visit was very fun. We were shown by the native's leader for the demo on how to light fire in natural way, how to hunt the big animals, small animals or even hunt human if you are interested to find out.

Boat rafting made us all in wet wet look. This was really exciting !!!

Part 2 - Langkawi

Took flight to this island call Langkawi, a most northern Island of west coast Malaysia. The name actually devote from "Lang" - mean kind of eagle in Malay language. This was my 1st trip to Langkawi, never think that it is so pretty and so nice. I am enjoyed the most was driving around the island especially singing the song "Lucas" (my name is lucas..... ), you can finish the car drive round the island within a day. Roads are easy and follow the map accordingly. Many different things / places to see along the way.

Oh! This is Padi fields (rice field) .... I am ulu people ok... I never see any padi field in my life before this.

We took cable car ride up to the hill. Those with Mycard are entittle to get RM25 for the ride. Else, you have to pay RM40 for return. Thus, must bring your Malaysia IC else you won't get discounted price. I must tell that this is really a worth trip, must go must go!

We had spent few hours up there. It has scenery view up there and impressive. You are able to view small part of Thailand from the top. There is an impressive stainless steel hang bridge on the top of the hill. Do not dare to walk it if you are scare of height.

This is the tallest water fall in Langkawi. He is excited to see that and jumped into it. He told me that hardly to has any water falls in Europe countries. hmm... I am doubt so ler.... After this, he fall into love with water falls..... keep on mumbling at me "I want to see more water fall, I want to see water fall". OMG! I really don't know how to control this big kid. I am not a mum yet.

Saw alot of monkeys in this island. They normally stay in a group. I told him that these were his friends, belong to the same family since he is hairy too :p ! Most of the time, there will be a monkey size bigger in the group ---> must be the king monkey. This king monkey always like to attack him. Maybe he is really look alike their enermy. At this point, I ran super dupper fast and left him behind for the fight. kaka.... cos they only attacked him NOT me!! don't get confuse....

Wow.... this is the bird call "Lang" where the name of this island comes from. A very pretty eagle. We went for boating to feed them with meats.


The sea water is very clear and not deep. Saw a romantic beach wedding at Tanjung Ru. How nice if i also can experience that one day. We spent 3D2N here and continue to Penang Island with ferry. I will come back to Langkawi for sure. A nice place for vacation !

Part 3 - Penang

From Langkawi we traveled with ferry to Penang island. Penang is a place famous with many good foods like char kuew dio. I got a horse ridding at Batu Ferringgi beach. Initially, I was so scare to get onto this big/tall fella. Horse is a kind of animal which you hard to control it as the nature of it - like freedom. Finally, I make it ! I love horse ridding !

"Gek Lok Shi" is one of the attractive place in Penang.

We also went to another temple. Happened some funny thing here. A girl been trying to throw so money into the wishing bowl for "happy marriage". Unfortunately, she failed all the times. So, my dear friend went and told her "the god will not make your wish come true, so is better for you to chance your bf. This is the sake of god". The girl said nothing and quickily grap her bf run away. Gosh !!! we need to run too. Me & Joshua so shocked with his words, we looked at each other and did some eyes contact that we should not stay too close with him just in case he said something again. aahh..... *-*

Part 4 - Ipoh

We were so lucky that able to see the "Chinese Opera" in Ipoh town. This was my 1st time of seeing it. I do like its make up and its customs. Basically, Ipoh with many attractive natural gaves and delicious foods. Crazy man! There were more than 100 peoples were waiting to eat "Ipoh beanspout chicken rice" on that 2 days. By no choice, we had to wait as well.

Part 5 - Putrajaya

The newest city in Malaysia, is the goverment's latest project - Putrajaya. This city is mainly full of government sectors and Islamic style of buildings. You should play a visit if you never been here.

Part 6 - Seremban

My hometown with this kind of special bull horn style of buildings. This is call "Minangkabau" house which come from the story of won the bull fighting (menang kerbau in malay). The people who is origin from here will follow Minangkabau tradition. There has a very unique tradition which the lady are the most powerful person in the family. Husband will follow the lady's family after marriage.

Part 7 - Melacca

The most historical city in Malaysia. The funnist part is he went to take photo with few pairs of bridal and some school children. This is how he would like to feel about the real of Malaysia in Malay style.

He may not come back to visit Malaysia again as the world is huge with many places that he wants to see. Anyway, I am great that he came so far away to visit me last Oct. I hope I did a good job as a host to him.
