The Magic City - Edinburgh

The views of Edinburgh city:
1. Edinburgh Castle & buildings 2. Scott Monument & Princess Garden 3. Caton Hill

Recently, I read a reply from K, he wrote "Glad to know someone who appreciates Edinburgh as much as me especially the castle. This is my most favourite place in this world."

J visited me @ Edin for 2 times. On her 1st visit, she said Edinburgh castle give her a feeling like there lives a princess and there's a dragon is been protecting the castle & princess. She spoke it in a very fairy tales way. To be honest, if you came to the city before, you will truely understand her words. PL visited me @ Edin & she came to Edin again eventhough I had left Edin. She loves the sunset in Edin.

As for me, basically I love everything about Edinburgh. Therefore, I decided to move from London to Edin and I had stayed there for 1.5 years. It is almost a perfect place for me if there are more sunny days. With sun, I feel more energy else I'll feel lazy all the time... Thus, that have inspired me to write about this city, Edinburgh (Capital of Scotland but I call it as Magic City). What so great about this city? The place really will give you lots of inspiration where J.K. Rolling wrote her 1st book on "Harry Potter".

My smiles & laughs @ Edinburgh

This plant call thistle which is Scotland's national flower. It is not a beautiful plant but with sharp torns. According to the Scottish history, one night a Denmark army step on this plant during their silent attack to Scotland. He screamed and woke up the Scottish army. Thus, the plant indirectly had safe them from the attack. Since then, thistle has became the important image of the country, represent the courage of the Scott man.

Edinburgh is Scotland's inspiring capital is a world-class destination...

Edinburgh has everything - the world's first City of Literature, castle, palace, heritage side, old & new town, surround by finest country side. The landscape of Edinburgh is so special with parks & royal garden, lake, rivers, beach, hill, death volcano... all in just in one city !!!

The celtic symbol of Scotland.

The Edinburgh Castle view at different angles.

The narrow walk way inside Edin city center, which you can experience yourself back in few hundreds year ago. It is famous with Ghost tour at night and lots of hidding / undergroud stories & history happened in this city. I can tell you if you want to know.

Fine countryside in Edinburgh

Swan lake besides the Palace of Holyrood.

The Edinburgh Castle or "castle in the air" with around a million of visitors per year. Perched high on a rocky outcrop with breathtaking views over the city. With its walls you will find the 900years old St. Margaret's Chapel.

History is everywhere in the Royal Mile (see above photo) is linking Edinburgh Castle (at top) to the Palace of Holyrood (at end), passing the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre (place to see how whisky is been produced), Childhood Museum (collections of childhood games, toys etc), People Museum, Scottish Parliament along the way.

On Royal Mile there are 2 of my favourite restaurants -
1. The Wicthery (The name devote from the witch who hunted for her 猎物. Is a must go restaurant. The most special Restaurant I've ever been, you won't see its door enterance from Royal Mile but is a narrow road, everything are so mistery like a witch in this restaurant. They famous dish is Aberdeen Angus Beef.)
2. The Royal Mcgregor (Scottish traditional bar, a warm & closy feeling inside. They serve very traditional Scottish Food like Haggis. So, I will bring my visitors each time to this place.)

North Bridge & South Bridge which joins Royal Mile to Princess Street. These are the 2 most important & busiest street in Edinburgh.

Bobby's Bar & the statue of Bobby. This is a real story of a loyalty dog, his master past away yet it still came to his master's grave yard year by years without unchange. Until one day, he died beside the grave yard.

The Scott man dress in Tartan (different designs & colours represent their family) and Kilt (Skirt) with bagpipes. The rule of dressing kilt is you must not wear a single pcs of thing under the kilt. Thus not under wear for Scott man in kilt and that makes them proud of their unique culture. They will normally dress kilt during those important ocassions. They really look smart with kilt on, believe me :p
